Hi, I'm Teja!
A scientist by heart (and education), I decided to start my entrepreneurial journey after working in the research and pharmaceutical industry for several years.

10 years of learning, researching, and experimenting led me to launch my first product, Butter Be Kind.
​
I believe in the power of nature.
I believe that the products we use should inspire us to become a better version of ourselves and feel better in our skin.

That is why I created Butter Be Kind.
My Story
Ever since I was a little girl, I have wanted to know as much as possible about nature. I spent my days with my grandparents, who had a huge garden with herbs, fruits, veggies, and chickens. My granny also cooked the famous calendula balm she used for every skin problem. And in some weird way, it always worked.
I have suffered from eczema and dermatitis ever since I can remember. My parents had trouble finding the right apparel and creams because I was sensitive to everything. All I could wear was 100% organic cotton.

As a teenager, I developed a great interest in science, chemistry, and biology, trying to understand how our body works. I've learned that nature holds many answers for us at an early age. For example, almost every cosmetic product I tried left my skin irritated with a burning sensation. Not to mention that I couldn't read anything written on the label.

After high school, I went to Vienna to study nutrition and biotechnology. That's when my experimenting with formulating cosmetics started.
​
I made self-made cosmetics for Christmas presents for my family and friends in 2013, and they LOVED IT!
​
+ I had so much fun doing it, and when my mom told me that after years of trying out different face creams, also made in the pharmacy and ending up with a huge reaction, her skin was feeling fresh, soft, and comfortable without any undesired response.

This motivated me to experiment more with my products, perfect the formulations, and compare them with what the competition offers.
​
My anecdote: I will never forget how I re-assembled a pen and sucked on it because I was curious to see whether the tint would come out. Well, it did. And my teeth were completely black. Toothpaste didn't help. But then my granny took a slice of lemon, and the tint went off, and my teeth were white again.
​
In April 2020, I formulated my first-ever baby product for the baby bum. A product for the softest and most sensitive skin on the planet. I gave it to a few friends to test it, as I always did... But this time, something was different. The feedback was terrific. The orders were coming in, and everyone was asking me why I was not selling it, and that's when it hit me: "it's time."

And this is how Butter Be Kind was born.
